5Stars!! Gosh…my heart is tired and yet so very, very happy. This story put it through the ringer in the most amazing of ways. Nixon and Zoe took turns dragging my feelings through the lowest of lows before they lifted them up to euphoric heights. These two carried their tragedies and their hopes in bullet-proof trunks and they didn’t allow anyone to mess around with their struggles. But together they were able to slowly unpack them and lay them to rest making room for the happiness they deserved. This story chronicled the hard-fought road back from addiction, the fear of losing everything, and the glimmer of hope and joy that, even in the toughest of times, is there for us to find. In short, it was everything!
As I’ve come to expect from Rebecca Yarros, she’s not scared to take me to the edge…to that spot where I’m afraid nothing will work out and am praying for a miracle. And then she drags me back, proving that even in the darkest of times, there is light if you look for it. I adored both Nixon and Zoe and they have become one of my all-time favorite couples. I loved the push and pull of their relationship and the strength that each one showed as they battled the bumps in the road. Their romance was sizzling and their chemistry undeniable. These two were perfect.
Of course, because this is part of a 3 book series, I was also treated to seeing the characters from the first two books and learning what was going on in their lives. It’s always so comforting when an author treats secondary characters with the respect they deserve and let’s them have a part, not matter how small, in the story the reader is currently enjoying – and Ms. Yarros did just that. This is a fantastic series and this final book ties up the story of Hush Note with the most gorgeous bow. I can’t say it enough…go get this book…go get this series. You will not be sorry – trust me!
